TOTAL 12 TOTAL DEGREE HOURS 12 Industrial Technology (Abilene Only) The Industrial Technology program consists of a two-year Associate in Applied Science Degree, a level two and a level one Certificate in Industrial Technology, a level two and a level one Certificate in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, two level one Certificates and a level two Certificate in Welding. The Industrial Technology program is designed to provide a working knowledge of the many specialized technical skills performed by personnel working in area plants and elsewhere in the service industry. Training skills include a working knowledge of electricity, electrical control of motors, programmable logic controls (PLC’s), heating and cooling systems, refrigeration, air conditioning, construction technology, basic drafting using AutoCAD, cabinet making, welding, blueprint reading, plumbing and industrial safety (ergonomics). Training includes preparing students for the E.P.A. Section 608 Stationary Certification Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Exam. In addition, a cooperative education program allows students to receive semester-hour credit for their work experience. This internship is linked to a seminar, which relates course information to job-related problems. Industrial Technology Associate of Applied Science Students must complete a minimum of 25% of the semester credit hours required for the A.A.S. degree at Cisco College.
