NUR2440L — Maternal Child Nursing Lab

This course is designed to present the nursing student with knowledge and skills related to care of a client from conception through childhood and adolescence. The course will present an introduction of high risk factors in these areas. The nursing process provides a framework for planning care for clients on the wellness-illness continuum with inclusion of human growth and development, culture diversity, pharmacology, and administra - tion of medications, nutrition, legal aspects of practice, interpersonal relationships, and current issues in nursing. Concepts related to pre, intra, and postoperative cares are discussed. Clinical experiences may be provided in both clinic and acute care settings. Specific exercises in management principles are provided in the clinical setting. Prereq- uisites: NUR1211C/L, NUR 2142, and MCB 2010C/L. Corequisites: NUR 2522C/L and Humanities.
