MTE 1653C — Shielded Metal Arc Welding
This course will enable the student to safely use the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process. Students will receive hands-on practice welding the five basic joints using various electrodes in multiple positions with emphasis on flat and horizontal. Students will learn how to interpret welding symbols and demonstrate the ability to identify and use the correct filler metals using intermediate SMAW techniques.
