SLP 225 — Childhood Disorders and Treatment
This course focuses on the treatment of speech, language and hearing disorders in children. Students will learn causes and characteristics of specific disorders and the elements of assessment and screening tools. Models of service delivery for children in educational and healthcare settings will be discussed. Students will learn and observe therapeutic principles and methods for treating a variety of speech and language disorders in children, and will demonstrate these skills through therapy simulations. Treatment documentation and data collection will be introduced. (Formerly SLP 125)
