NRSG 210 — Fundamentals of Nursing

Corequisite: NRSG 211 The focus of this course is on the introduction of theory and beginning clinical application of the Nursing Process and the Roy Adaptation Model when providing care for geriatric patients. Emphasis is also placed on the beginning application of therapeutic communication techniques and the acquisition of adult physical assessment skills and fundamental concepts and skills required for patient care. Students are evaluated using the Educational Competencies for Graduates of Associate Degree Nursing Programs as identified by the National League for Nursing Task Force. The student must receive a grade of "C" or higher in the lecture component and a satisfactory grade in clinical lab to pass the course.
