LAW 119 — Legal Aspects of Mass Communications

This course provides a brief introduction to legal aspects faced by those involved in mass media and new media. Major topics include First Amendment rights and responsibilities, libel, privacy, copyright, freedom of information, open meetings, broadcast decency, and student media. This course in not open to students who are enrolled in or who have received credit in JOUR 119 or RTV 119.
