HVAC 1080 - Residential Energy Auditing and Conservation HVAC 1080 - Residential Energy Auditing and Conservation Hours/Week: Lecture 3 Lab 0 Course Description: This course provides an introduction to assessing housing for energy improvements. Students will explore ways of collecting information and using it to develop a practical plan for reducing energy use. Home diagnostics, air sealing, insulation, HVAC equipment and electric appliances are covered. Completion of this course will qualify students to sit for a competency examination to demonstrate they meet the state of Minnesota’s minimum qualifications for residential energy auditors. Students will also be required to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours to perform weatherization and insulation work for a community organization.
