EMS 1025 - EMS Interventions I EMS 1025 - EMS Interventions I Hours/Week: Lecture 3.5 Lab 1.5 Course Description: This course enhances the current EMTs basic life support (BLS) skills and prepares the student to assist in advanced procedures and assessment techniques. Under paramedic instructor guidance, the course provides opportunities to synthesize and apply theories and skills needed in order to assist a paramedic. Emphasis is placed upon team leading, critical thinking, prioritization, assessment, therapeutic communication, and life-saving interventions. Students must be able to perform physical tasks to complete course requirements. Successful completion of this class, along with EMS 1026 , with a grade of C or higher will meet the requirement for entrance into the Century College Paramedic Program.
