CJS 1020 - Careers in Criminal Justice CJS 1020 - Careers in Criminal Justice Hours/Week: Lecture 2 Course Description: This course, recommended as the first course for students interested in the criminal justice field, provides an overview of the varied professional roles available within the criminal justice system. Topics include traditional careers in law enforcement, courts, and corrections,, as well as unfamiliar roles. Students explore their own professional goals, skills, and desires, using course content to develop appropriate career strategies, resumes, and professional social media profiles that they can use with transfer institutions or potential employers.
