NCWorks NextGen
The NCWorks NextGen Program helps young adults, ages 16 to 24, gain work experience, enter the job market, complete educational goals, and prepare for a career. The program assists out-of-school youth (including high school equivalency students) with one or more barriers to employment. NextGen provides career exploration, paid internships, help finding employment, and scholarships for training and certifications. Eligible students can earn their high school diploma while being enrolled in the college's occupational programs at the same time. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds the program under contract with Charlotte Works. The program helps students plan, prepare, and launch
