Explore the journey from farm to fork as you learn how to cultivate, harvest, and prepare a variety of Fall crops in this immersive, hands-on course. Each session blends time on the farm with guided kitchen experiences, offering a deeper understanding of local agriculture and practical culinary skills. You'll participate in harvesting fresh, in-season produce and transforming it into simple, delicious dishes that highlight the flavors of the season. Along the way, you'll gain tips for preserving and cooking with local ingredients, as well as insights into the health benefits of eating seasonally. A focus on recipe and meal preparation methods ensures you leave with the knowledge and confidence to recreate these meals at home. Participants will also receive a collection of recipes learned and shared throughout the course, making this a flavorful and inspiring way to connect with your food, your community, and the season. ***** Required Materials and Supplies: Two pairs of closed-toed shoes are required for this class. One pair will be worn during the farm portion for basic personal protection while working outdoors. The second pair must be clean, dirt- and mud-free, and reserved for the kitchen portion to maintain food safety standards. Students are also encouraged to keep a sun hat, long-sleeved shirt, gloves, raincoat, and umbrella available for use during farm activities.
