This course is designed to introduce skill standards applicable to health and fitness professionals who perform individualized assessments and design safe, effective individualized exercise and conditioning programs. Core topics include concepts and structures of anatomy, principles of human movement science, exercise technique and training instruction, nutrition, program design, and professional development, practice and responsibility. Individuals enrolled in the course must hold a current emergency cardiac care (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification. Upon completion students will have the knowledge-base to sit for a national certification.
