This class will provide emergency response personnel with the training needed to meet the requirements for an Infection Control Officer. Topics include standards and laws such as NFPA 1581, the Standard on Fire Department Infection Control Programs, issued by the National Fire Protection Administration (NFPA); provisions for emergency personnel as outlined in any current authorization of the Ryan White Law originally passed as Public Law 101-381 in 1990; and any associated Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
