MTH3021M2 — Therapeutic Massage I

This course prepares students for practice as an entry-level professional massage therapist through coursework and hands-on lab practice. Coursework includes: human anatomy & physiology, client evaluation, and massage techniques. Massage Therapy Part II is required to complete this program of study. Students must complete both Massage Therapy I and II successfully to be eligible to sit for the State Mblex exam. ***** Enrollment Eligibility: A high school diploma or equivalency is required. Students need to pass a criminal background check. CPR Certification is required for the Clinical Requirement (Therapeutic Massage II) Students must be proficient in English, consistent with Section 90-629 of the Standards of Professional Conduct of the Practice Act and the regulations of the NC Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy. ***** Required Materials/Supplies: A textbook along with supplies and uniform is required. A list of specific supplies will be provided during the first class. ***** Note: Therapeutic Massage I must be completed before you are eligible to take Therapeutic Massage II. Upon completion of both courses students will be eligible to sit for the State Mblex exam.
