This course introduces students to flight line testing of air traffic control transponders, ADS-B, TIS, TAS, and ELT systems. Topics include: common aviation navigation system components and associated antennas, and satellite navigational systems. Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: use available software to design a general aviation instrument panel and upload the design to the Panel Planner to cut out the panel; interpret provided schematics to draw a transponder pin-out as it interfaces with associated equipment; and meet manufacturer's specs for assembling and wiring a transponder, then troubleshooting and configuring the equipment using IFR 6000 test equipment.
