WLD255 — Advanced Pipe Welding II

This course prepares students for welder qualifications in several codes to meet the required standards of the advanced pipe industry. The focus of this course is on the welding procedures and techniques used in smaller diameter and heavier wall thickness piping. This will be a lab intensive class to allow students with the required lab time to pass advanced pipe welder qualification tests. Students will practice butt welds, socket welds, tube welding and advanced pipe fabrication. Specialty industry procedures such as hot tapping, heat treatment and stress relieving will be discussed. Special safety procedures such as fall protection, cranes and rigging, confined space and excavations will be discussed. WLD243 or Instructor Consent.
