WLD130 — Intro to Flux Cored Arc Welding & Fabrication

Focus on Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW) using the Flux Cored Arc Welding with gas (FCAW-G), and Flux Cored Arc Welding self shield (FCAW-S) processes. Welding will be in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Also covered: American Welding Society (AWS) typical joint designs using the fillet, lap, and T-joint, with an emphasis on proper use and care of equipment and safety procedures. Welding design, layout and fabrication processes with job/shop-oriented environment and emphasis on instructor pre-approved individual and group projects. Corequisites: WLD118 & WLD230.
