EDU370C — Field Experience Teacher in Residence (TIR) Semester 2

2 credits · 2 hours

The field experience course is designed to build a strong link between theory and practice by providing exposure and support to participants as they begin to apply practical knowledge, skills, and dispositions of an effective educator. Authentic classroom experiences serve as a foundation for candidates to build and discuss the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of an effective teacher. Course participants will progressively develop new teaching capacities and key understandings as they gradually phase into additional responsibilities throughout the internship. Teacher in Residence (TIR) program participants in internship experiences will match the certificate the program leads to as closely as possible. Therefore, Teachers in Residence (TIR) participants that have placements in single subject areas, including related arts and/or special area classrooms, will be required to document experiences to expose them to the full breadth of content within the target certification. The CAC field experience program requires a minimum of 45 clock hours of classroom field experience per semester in conjunction with enrollment in the corresponding practicum course. The practicum internship experience requires a total of 90 clock hours over the duration of two full 16-week semesters. Prerequisite: EDU370A.
