DMS130L — Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation I Laboratory

This course introduces the physical principles of ultrasound in a lab setting, focusing on the analysis of image acquisition techniques used to create diagnostic ultrasound images as recommended by ARDMS. Students will learn to utilize ultrasound equipment and transducers to produce sound waves and examine their interactions with tissue. Additional topics include workplace safety, quality assurance and control, patient history, technical worksheets, bioeffects, and potential risks. Recommended: Mathematical analysis and understanding of mathematical relationships. Prerequisites: DMS101; PHY101. Corequisite: DMS130.
