This course develops self-sustaining reading skills improvement for college-level reading assignments. It is intended to supplement concurrent enrollment in Butte College coursework. Emphasis is placed on determining reading strategies appropriate for the reading task, calculating reading rate suitable for the assignment, assessing schema as it pertains to the context for reading, measuring comprehension as it relates to the application of reading material, and adapting to meet the variety of tasks associated with college-level reading assignments.
