MLT1610 — CLINICAL CHEMISTRY I

This course is the first of a two-semester sequence introducing students to laboratory medicine that focuses on the analysis of bodily fluids to detect and diagnose diseases. The course explores theoretical concepts and principles of carbohydrate, non-protein nitrogen, and electrolyte chemistry analyses with emphasis on their relationships to various disease states. Analytical procedures to asses liver function and acid-base balance are also included. This course should be taken as a co-requisite with Clinical Chemistry 1 Lab Microbiology.
