MGF1130 — MATHEMATICAL THINKING
In this course, students will utilize multiple means of problem solving through student-centered mathematical exploration. The course is designed to teach students to think more effectively and increase their problem-solving ability through practical application and divergent thinking. This course is appropriate for students in a wide range Real-world Geometry, Logic in Context, and Mathematical Modeling are required. For the Mathematical Modeling unit, the instructor will choose either Linear and Exponential Models or Modeling with Graph Theory. It will use projects and/or other student- centered activities to emphasize applications to the real-world in areas such as humanities, culinary sciences, business personal finance, natural sciences, and/or sociology.
