PE 131 - Introduction to Physical Education PE 131 - Introduction to Physical Education Credits - 3 Lecture - 3 Introduction to Physical Education is a course intended for students pursuing careers in exercise science, sport science, physical education, or related disciplines. The course offers a comprehensive overview of foundational concepts, including the principles of human anatomy and physiology, educational philosophies and pedagogical approaches, exercise prescription, and fitness assessment. Additionally, students will examine the historical evolution of physical education, explore professional career opportunities within the field, and develop the skills necessary to critically analyze and interpret peer-reviewed research in exercise science. Term(s) inter Course Designation: Discipline Studies - A transferable course that meets distribution (group) requirements in the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (A.A.O.T.) degree and the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Note: Courses meeting distribution requirements may always be used as electives in the transfer degrees.
