MTH 095 - Intermediate Algebra MTH 095 - Intermediate Algebra Credits - 5 Lecture - 5 This course is on the Calculus pathway for students preparing for a science or technical degree, or who will be needing Precalculus for their degree. Building on the real number system and progressing to solving equations and inequalities, this course covers the foundation of algebra. Students will study polynomials and factoring, roots, radical and rational expressions and equations, functions and their graphs, quadratic equations, complex numbers, and parabolas. Applications in these areas will also be covered. Use of a graphing utility will also be explored. Students will demonstrate knowledge of mathematical concepts presented through application problems and clear communication of solutions. Prerequisite: MTH 070 or Placement
