HE 252 - First Aid HE 252 - First Aid Credits - 3 Lecture - 3 Introduces first aid and emergency knowledge and skills in the work, community, and home environment. The purpose of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills to provide emergency care to persons injured in an accident or stricken by sudden illness. This emergency care is given prior to care by qualified medical personnel. Upon successful completion of this course, students may earn an American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate. This course will cover major aspects of first aid with regard to emergency care and preventative measures. The student will learn the proper methods and procedures for applying first aid in a given emergency situation. Term(s) all, Winter, Spring Course Designation: Discipline Studies - A transferable course that meets distribution (group) requirements in the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (A.A.O.T.) degree and the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Note: Courses meeting distribution requirements may always be used as electives in the transfer degrees.
