ECE 175A - Infant/Toddler Caregiving: Social-Emotional Growth ECE 175A - Infant/Toddler Caregiving: Social-Emotional Growth Credits - 1 Lecture - 1 This course presents healthy social emotional development in infancy as the underpinning for all other learning, and that social emotional development is dependent on the child’s close relationship with respectful, caring adults. Also discussed is the importance of understanding temperament, emotions, environmental impact, and caregiving responsiveness to the child’s needs. Students are presented with information to promote awareness of their own feelings, expectations, and attitudes brought with them from past experiences to the field of early childhood education. Students will examine the relationship between social-emotional caregiving and services provided to families. Term(s) pring Course Designation: C/T Elective - A maximum of 12 credits of college-level career and technical courses may be used as electives in the A.A.O.T. and the A.A.S. degrees.
