WLD215 — SMAW Pipe
6 CR Shield metal arc welding of open-root steel pipe in all positions in preparation for industrial applications and the AWS/WABO Pipe Welding Certification Test (AWS/WABO testing is in-house). This pipe welding practice follows AWS Welding Standard D1.1 and WABO Structural Welding Code and ASME IX and B31.3 SMAW Pipe Welding Certification Standards for pressure piping applications required by local refineries and affiliated industrial applications. Pipe welding conducted in 2G, 5G, and 6G positions on 8” pipe. Completion Of or Concurrent Enrollment In: WLD 205 and WLD 256 , both with a C- or higher; or concurrent enrollment in WLD 205 and WLD 256 ; or Instructor permission.
