PE256 — Introduction to Mountain Bike Instruction
2 CR Prepare students to work as mountain bike coaches and/or volunteer trail builders; introduce students to foundational mountain bike riding skills; develop an understanding of recreation policy in Washington and trail use / open space advocacy. Students receive instructor training, learn about progressive teaching and ride techniques, and experience and explore Mountain Bike trail building and advocacy all while learning to employ appropriate risk assessment skills. The class meets at the BC campus, and at local trails along the I-90 corridor. Grade Scale: A (4.0)/ Satisfactory (2.0)/ Unsatisfactory (0.0). Minimal prior mountain bike and instructional experience required. Course
