Students learn modalism, 20th-century rhythmic concepts, free & serialized atonality, indeterminacy, collage music, pluralism, minimalism, ambient music, Musique concrète, timbral expansion of acoustic instruments & voices, and early electronic music.  Ear training, rhythm reading, and sight singing are also included.
