ASLS 1013 - American Sign Language I ASLS 1013 - American Sign Language I , Lecture 3 Introduces students to the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) with an emphasis on the rudiments of ASL vocabulary, grammatical structures, comprehension, and expression. Students will also gain insight into the Deaf community and Deaf culture, including ethical concerns and strategies for meaningful advocacy. This course is designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of ASL. Note: This course has been approved as a General Education course (Humanities).
