NURS 1261 — Medical-Surgical Nursing IV 5 Credit Hours
This course focuses on the care of adult clients with complex health alterations that require medical and/or surgical intervention. Emphasis is placed on the care of clients with alterations in select body systems and the advancement of patient education and management of care for clients with multiple, complex health needs. Concepts of patient-centered care, professionalism, teamwork and collaboration, clinical judgment, lead - ership and management of care, patient education, and communication are integrated throughout the course. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe client care to adults in a variety of settings. Prerequisite: NURS 1257 Medical Surgical Nursing III AND NURS 1259 Maternal Child Nursing II and Kansas LPN License and Admission to ADN Program
