This course is designed to provide the student with a basic knowledge of medications and their safe administration. It covers the systems of the body and the effects of medications on these systems. Special emphasis is given to the aging process and what it does to drug utilization by the body. Students completing this course with a minimum grade of “C” will be allowed to sit for the Kansas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) State Certification Examination and receive a Barton certificate of completion. assessment and active Kansas Nurse Aide Certification.
