A course in the development of speech skills, the pronunciation of English and English sentence patterns, and finding meaning in spoken English. Students will practice listening strategies to assist in comprehension, expand their vocabulary, and participate in small group discussions. Through a variety of practice activities, the student will learn to integrate English sounds, stress, rhythm, and intonation into clear, fluent speech. Students will be introduced to slang, idioms, and informal words and expressions as encountered in everyday conversation. Fulfills: Developmental Course
