This course is an introduction to the first half of art history. It consists of a study of the art produced from prehistoric times through the Gothic period. The course will study the evolution of architecture, sculpture, painting, and the crafts. Patron, techniques, values, concepts, philoso - phies, and materials used by artists will be studied. Major movements, themes, artworks, and artists will be studied as well as how the art is a reflection of the society that produced it.
