Total Hours Required 54.0 Certificate of Completion, Trades Technician This certificate is designed to give the Trades Technician student the fundamental technical skills and knowledge required for entry-level employment. Covered in this course are Safety, Hand and Power tools, Print Reading, Electrical Basics, HVAC/R, Welding, Pipe fitting & Plumbing systems, and Basic Construction Principles and practices. This course will be appropriate for students who wish to pursue a career in the skilled Residential, Commercial and Industry trades. The essential skills component focuses on incorporating relevant essential skills for student success in the work environment. Upon completion of the required courses the student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, Trade Technician. Program Level Outcomes Upon successful completion, the student will be able to: • Demonstrate the safe and proper use of hand power tools, various types of fasteners and test equipment commonly used in Industrial Maintenance, including reading and interpreting blueprints construction documents, and industry code requirements. • Describe and apply basis electrical construction practices, principles, and installation techniques, while performing preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting heating and HVAC/R systems. • Perform and identify proper basic welding operations for Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). • Demonstrate and describe the basis fundamental skills used
