EMETÂ 2160 — Â Manufacturing Systems and Design

In this course, students will understand and analyze manufacturing systems and automation as the control of pneumatic, hydraulic, and temperature instrumentation for manufacturing systems requirements. Topics include the use of communications, RS232, RS422/RS485, PID control, feedback systems, robotic controls, wiring of control systems, AC Frequency Drive Systems, AC/DC motor theory and control, process controls, programmed controls, and industrial schematics. Laboratory work includes troubleshooting of manufacturing systems using power devices, robotics, hydraulics, sensors, and pneumatics.
