HUM 1141 - Humanities in the Age of Enlightenment HUM 1141 - Humanities in the Age of Enlightenment Catalog Description In this course, students will study the development and transformation of Western culture that began in the 17th century and climaxed in the Scientific Revolution and the Age of Enlightenment of the 18th century. The course emphasizes ideas in their time frame; illustrates how creative achievements like music, art, literature, philosophy, architecture, science, and society influence one another; and provides an understanding of how people inherit as well as create culture.
