GERM 1101 - Beginning German Language and Culture I GERM 1101 - Beginning German Language and Culture I Catalog Description GERM 1101 is the first course in a four semester (two-year) sequence. In GERM 1101 students learn basic German grammar such as verb conjugation and adjective agreement and practice the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the present tense with an emphasis upon correct oral and written expressions and aural comprehension. Students are also introduced to various aspects of German culture in Germany and in German speaking countries in the text and through videos and presentation, which may include historical, social, and cultural topics.
