BUS 1112 - Computer Concepts and Applications BUS 1112 - Computer Concepts and Applications Catalog Description This course focuses on computer concepts and applications and prepares students to apply their technology knowledge toward personal, business, and societal pursuits. Computer concepts covered include how a computer works and computer hardware; computer operating systems and software applications; data communication; use of the Internet; computer security and safety; legal and ethical computing practices; basic concepts of cloud computing, E-commerce, and artificial intelligence; and how individuals, businesses, and society use computer technology. Through hands-on computing activities, students learn to use computer operating system software, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation graphics, email, and Internet application software. The course is taught using Windows-based computers, the current versions of Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft 365 (for Windows) business software (including full versions of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
