COL040 — Integrated Reading and Writing
This course is designed to prepare students for academic and vocational reading at the college level. Emphasized skills include improving comprehension of college level texts, developing learning strategies, and improving vocabulary and communication skills. This course also emphasizes the writing processes that will be utilized in Composition I (COL 101). The course will progress from short pieces of writing to longer written essays, emphasizing written focus, organization, clarity, and usage of Standard Edited English. COL 040 does not apply toward graduation requirements.
